An Angel Visits Mary

An Angel Visits Mary

Luke 1:26–38

In the town of Nazareth lived a young woman named Mary. She was engaged to a man called Joseph. One day God sent the angel Gabriel to visit her. Gabriel said, "Greetings! The Lord is with you." Mary was puzzled and wondered what these words could mean.

The angel told her not to be afraid, because God was pleased with her. She would have a baby boy and name him Jesus, and he would be called the Son of God. Mary asked how this could happen. Gabriel explained that nothing is impossible with God. Mary listened carefully and trusted Him. She said, "I am the Lord's servant," and gladly said yes to God's plan.

Children learn: It is good to ask questions, and we can listen to God and trust His good plans.

  2. 2How do you think Mary felt when she saw the angel?
  3. 3When you don't understand something, who can you ask?
