Story 22
Daniel in the Lions' Den
Daniel 6
Daniel was a faithful man who served King Darius. Every day he prayed to God by his window. Some officials were jealous of him, so they persuaded the king to make a new rule: for thirty days, no one could pray to anyone except the king. But Daniel kept praying to God, just as he always had.
The king was very sad, but he had to keep his own rule, and Daniel was put in a den of lions. That night the king could not sleep. Early in the morning he hurried to the den, and Daniel called out that he was safe. God had sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths. The king was overjoyed and told everyone to honour Daniel's God.
Children learn: We can keep trusting and praying to God even when things are hard, because He is always with us.
