Jesus Sends His Disciples

Jesus Sends His Disciples

Matthew 28:16–20; Acts 1:6–11

After Jesus rose again, his eleven disciples went to a mountain in Galilee. When they saw Jesus, they worshipped him. Jesus told them, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them and teaching them to obey everything I have taught you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Later, Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would come and give them power, and they would tell others about him, from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. As they watched, Jesus was taken up and a cloud hid him from sight. Two men dressed in white said Jesus would come back in the same way. The disciples were left with fresh hope and an important job: sharing the good news.

Children learn: Children learn that Jesus is always with them and that they can share his love at home and with their friends.
