Story 2
Adam and Eve
Genesis 2:4–25
God formed the first man from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into him, and the man came alive. God planted a beautiful garden in Eden, with trees lovely to look at and good for food, and a river to water it. He put Adam there to work it and look after it.
God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone.' He brought the animals and birds to Adam, and Adam gave each one its name. But none of them was the right partner for him. So God made Adam fall into a deep sleep, took one of his ribs and made a woman. Adam welcomed her as part of himself, and the two became one family.
Children learn: God made people with love, gave them a good home to care for, and made us for friendship and family.
