The Fruit They Were Told Not to Eat

God gave Adam and Eve a garden full of good food. They could eat from every tree except one, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. One day a crafty snake asked Eve, 'Did God really say that?' It told her that eating the fruit would make them like God. Eve ate some of the fruit and gave some to Adam, and he ate it too.

Straight away they noticed they had no clothes, so they sewed fig leaves together and hid among the trees. God called, 'Where are you?' Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the snake. Their choice brought sadness and hard work, and they had to leave the garden. But God still cared for them: before they left, he made clothes for them to wear.
