Story 4
Noah and the Ark
Genesis 6:9–9:17
Noah was a good man who walked closely with God. God told him to build a huge boat called an ark, and Noah did everything just as God said. When the ark was ready, Noah went inside with his wife, his three sons and their wives. Animals and birds of every kind came into the ark in pairs, and then God shut the door.
Rain fell for forty days and forty nights, and water covered the earth, but the ark floated safely. At last the water went down. Noah sent out a dove, and it came back with a fresh olive leaf. Everyone came out onto dry land. God put a rainbow in the clouds as a sign of his promise never to flood the whole earth again.
Children learn: God keeps his promises and takes care of those who trust him.
