Baby Moses Is Saved
Exodus 2
Long ago in Egypt, a cruel rule from the king put Hebrew baby boys in danger. One mother had a fine baby boy, and she hid him at home for three months. When she could hide him no longer, she made a basket, sealed it so water could not get in, laid her baby inside and placed it among the reeds by the River Nile. His sister stood a little way off to watch.
Pharaoh's daughter came down to the river to bathe. She saw the basket, heard the baby crying and felt sorry for him. His sister bravely offered to find a Hebrew woman to nurse him, and fetched the baby's own mother. When he grew older, the princess took him as her son and named him Moses.
Children learn: God cares for even the smallest ones, and he often uses brave, loving people to keep them safe.
