Elijah and the Rain

Elijah told King Ahab that there would be no rain for the next few years, and the land became dry. God took care of Elijah: ravens brought him bread and meat, and later a poor widow shared her last flour and oil with him. God made sure her jar of flour and jug of oil did not run out.

On Mount Carmel, Elijah prayed, and God sent fire from heaven, so the people said, 'The Lord is God!' Then Elijah bowed down low again. Seven times his servant went to look out towards the sea. At last he saw a tiny cloud, as small as a person's hand. Soon the sky grew dark, and heavy rain began to fall.
